I’m pretty technologically challenged so I don’t know if this post belongs here, but I need some help with connecting my PS4 to my old computer monitor. As you can see in the attached photos, my monitor is pretty old and doesn’t have an HDMI port. It instead it has a DVI in. From what I’ve read I know I need to get some sort of DVI to HDMI converter or upgrade my monitor. I really can’t afford to buy a new monitor so I just need some advice on what cables and such I should buy to hook my PS4 up to my monitor. Reading on what cables to buy has just further confused me on what I actually need.
Any advice/help is greatly appreciated.
Cheers!

Hi agoodman, and welcome to TSG.

A relatively inexpensive HDMI to Single-Link DVI-D adapter or adapter cable will support a maximum resolution of 1920 × 1200 at 60 Hz, which I believe means it will support all output resolutions of the standard PS4 console. A single link DVI-D adapter does not require any kind of active electronic signal manipulation and just has wires between the contacts at each end.

The DVI standard does not support sending digital audio. Things get more complicated if your monitor has built-in amplified speakers and you want to run them off the PS4's audio.
