e-mail attachments

I have windows XP home addition, new from Gateway. I cannot open any e-mail attachments from my friends. I get a message that 0utllook express is blocking it!. This is a new computer. Ideas on how to fix this problem? thanks

1. Open OE
2. Click Tools, point to Options, and then click the Security tab.
3. Uncheck "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus."
4. Click OK

in outlook express......tools>options>security tab.
uncheck "do not allow attachments to be saved or open that could potentialy be a virus".



it's your call, i have unchecked mine, and....YES, i have gotten virus' before!

heheh, yes I did, but you had the warning about getting a virus.


Of course, having an updated AV is essential, isn't it? If you have one, your risk is minimised, unless you are one of the unlucky ones that receive a virus before a fix has been created by the AV folks.

This feature just came out, if you have a good AV program you shouldn't have anything to worry about. I have never had a virus and have never used this feature.

actually, when i got my virus' , my AV didn't catch them, but i changed.
infected over 100 files

sorry 'bout gettin' off the subject, i'm done lol
