    Hi bmcclure

Welcome to Tech Support Guy Forums!

Verify you have Show Hidden files and folders enabled:
    Open Windows Explorer,
View > Folder Options > View tab,
Verify that Show hidden files and folders is checked.
Apply, OK, to save and close.

    _______________________________________________________________

    With Outlook Express closed:

Start > Find > Files and Folders
    in the Find Field:
    key in:
    *.dbx
be sure to include the asterick.
in the "Look in" field make sure your "C" drive or main harddrive is selected, click on Find Now.

Locate the Deleted Items.dbx file and rename it Deleted Items.old

    Open Outlook Express and test.

    Let us know what happens.

If you click on and highlight a message header, the DELETE button should highlight so you can delete the message. If none of the message headers are highlighted, the DELETE button remains grayed out.

To delete them all at one time, click on and highlight any message header, click Edit - Select All(which should highlight them all), then click DELETE.
