My dad recently reinstalled windows XP on my computer, as I had some sort of virus that disabled system restore and access to the hard-drive and blah blah. And now I have this problem when trying to install East Asian Languages:

I clicked the check box, and inserted the CD. It installed, I rebooted. But I still cant see Japanese text, or add it to my input language bar thing? Or change my locale to Japanese. No matter how many times I reboot or try and reinstall it, this never changes.

Someone suggested I use "sfc /scannow" in the run command to see if there are files missing, but it didn't work, meaning it found no errors. Any suggestions?

u will NOT be able to see japanese text everywhere , like start menu or in the tool bars. All the text will be in english. You will only be able to read and write japanese text in microsoft word or wordpad.

May be i am wrong, senior members will tell u better

I know what installing it is supposed to do, it worked fine before my dad reinstalled windows. Thanks for answering though.
