    Hello
I bought a BR-6208AC router to be used as wifi range extender.
I connected the router to electricity,
then connected my mobile phone to the router,
then I used "EdiRenge" app on my phone to set up the router.
I ran through the setup, picking my wifi and entering its password,
then I just click next next next, and it says it configured it successfully.
Now I can see the new network from the wifi range extender, but when trying to connect to it
it fails to get IP address, it connects but I cant use it for anything (internet doesn't work).
So I wonder what can be the problem?
As Wifi extender there shouldn't be any special options to it, it just picks a signal and extends it :p

You are correct that using a range extender is typically a simple setup.

However, you are using a router. So why it's not working properly is likely based on how you configured it. Without knowing which guide you used or seeing the config I can't even try to guess.

The User Manual may have setup instructions. Otherwise, a basic overview is here: https://lifehacker.com/how-to-extend-your-wi-fi-network-with-an-old-router-915783308 or https://www.tomsguide.com/us/how-to-turn-old-router-into-wifi-extender,review-5166.html (there are numerous guides available - try a Google search).
