I'm helping a college friend of mine who has been assigned the task of making some minor edits on one of USC's websites, yet she has not been properly trained.

They use FileZilla. We are able to see the files in the file browser that need to be modified, but don't know how to modify them. Take a .html file for example, showing some text. When we click on the file itself and select Edit, the file opens yet it cannot be edited. Do we have to use some sort of external html editor, then upload the files? If so, what is the best free program for doing this?

    Thank you.

I'm going to have to close this; you will need to contact USC's IT department for assitance. Not a lot we can do about that, as it's a privately owned site.

    thanks for understanding.
