    Me. again. It's always me.

Months ago, a friend uploaded 2 videos on Edonkey 2000. I installed it - of course it totally wrecked my hard drive. I uninstalled it.

This week, I ran spybot and corrected most of the problems.

    I reinstalled Edonkey 2000.

It never connects, just hangs. I un and reinstalled it. Same problem.

A side issue, when I originally installed it, I was able to connect, but not find the videos. I was chatting with my friend at the time and he could see them but I couldn't.

So, any thoughts on why I can't connect?

Any thoughts on why I can't locate files that my friend can see? Yes, spelling is correct, I was actually connected then, etc.

Oh, a third question. I'm very new at P2P. Originally, I was able to see a list of servers. Do I need to select a server? Does it make a difference or even matter?

    thanks kids.

    ps - I have DSL

    okay.

I did a search of Edonkey posts and the first few were listed here.

Where is the best place to post my problem?

I've downloaded Edonkey 2000 and a am missing the SERVERS tab.

As you know I have XP. Yes, the firewall is off.

Please, if this is posted in the wrong forum, could someone direct me to the proper forum?

    Thank you

    Please read the Rules:

    Category I Offences

P2P Instructions - The purpose of P2P is to illegally trade copyrighted material. We do not support the use of P2P networks and any threads requesting help for them will be closed. This includes Kazaa, Bearshare, and the like. If you're interested in the topic, you are free to discuss it on our site (and please visit StealingIsIllegal.com), but information on how to use them will not be provided.

To clarify, there is no forum at this site where you will get an answer.
    We cannot help you.
Apart from the majority of P2P use being for illegal purposes in most countries, its also a primary cause of all the infected PC's that come here for help cleaning them up.

Thank you! That answers a whole host of questions.

If EDonkey was listed in the rules, I totally missed it..

    Thanks again.
