I recently pulled my aged emachines desktop out of my garage. I set everything up fine and it seemed to be working great until I plugged in the headphones to check for sound. there was none. i check in the control panel it it said it detected no sound devices.

I found a similar thread on these forums and did everything described there to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

    The Emachines is running XP
