Delete the temporary Internet files
To delete the temporary Internet files, follow these steps:
Start Internet Explorer.
On the Tools menu, click Internet Options, and then click the General tab.
Under Temporary Internet files, click Delete Cookies.
Click OK when you are prompted to confirm the deletion.
Click Delete Files.
Click OK when you are prompted to confirm the deletion.
Under History, click Clear History.
Click Yes when you are prompted to delete your history of visited Web sites.
Click OK.

Then check your security settings, content, and advanced settings in Internet Explorer

Did you configure Security settings for the Trusted sites zone in IE: IE, Tools, Internet Options, Security tab, select Trusted sites, Default Level. Sites, enter the address (URL) of the site in the Add this Web site to the zone: box, Add, OK, Apply.

Check Firewall/Network Configuration?

Do you have Norton's by any chance?

It seems like something is prohibiting you from connecting to a secure site

Try this here. Go to run and type in Winipcfg and then click on "reless all" and then on "renew all".

Well for Norton you can try this:

Open the product.
Click Privacy Control.
If using Norton Internet Security , Norton Internet Security Professional, or Norton Personal Firewall 2003 or 2004, click Configure.
Click Custom Level.
Make sure that the option "Enable Secure Connection" is checked.
Click OK and OK again.
Close your browser.
Close the product.
Open your browser and try to connect.

Either that or a port might have to be opened somewhere

Try what I said in my above post. This is what you have to do any time you add or take away a router.

Also you have to give the ok for your email program to get tru your firewall.
