there's a virus in my email and the msn techs have given me a page, housecall.antivirus.com to go to and then subsequent steps to take. I got as far as "local disk c" under "my computer" and clicked on SCAN and then my computer seemed to freeze. i couldn't click on another thing with the arrow. i let it just sit there for almost 3 hours and nothing else happened. I finally just had to do ctrl, alt, del. there was a box labeled 'auto clean' under the scan box but like i say, i couldn't activate another thing with my mouse arrow - everything just froze. the msn techs are closed now.

    Welcome to T.S.G :)

    Do this:
go to http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/ , and download 'Hijack This!'.
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log somewhere, and please copy & paste its contents to the forum.

It will possibly show other issues deserving our attention, but most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.
