I have an odd problem with video playback when using Safari or Firefox. When a video is embedded in another site (like a forum), it plays fine. If I go to the source (mainly YouTube), I get audio, but no video. This has been consistent over the nine months I've had Windows 7. I've reinstalled Flash several times, trying both the 64 and the 32 bit versions (I do have the 64 bit version of Windows, but I've been confused before as to which to use, so I tried it...). I have no trouble with playback via VLC or such. I have an older Nvidea graphics card.
I've looked for solutions, but I've found no references to video that works while embedded, but not at the source. Almost all the advice I've found is to reinstall Flash. I have no idea if this is an OS issue, or a software issue, but inclined to believe the former, since Firefox does not work either. Any help is appreciated.
