We have used this printer steadily for about 18 months, but lately a couple of problems have come up. Whenever I try to print a photo or simply copy something using the built in scanner, the LCD displays a message that says: "E-04 Paper Jam", eventhough there is no paper jam. I should note that it still prints fine for other things, like documents, etc.

Any ideas? The people at Epson said it needs to be repaired, but I was hoping there was some other solution.

    Thanks.

Have you tried holding the reset button for a few seconds to clear errors?

Is this the stop/clear settings button? When I press that when an error is displayed it cancels the current job. I don't see a dedicated reset button.

    Thanks.

Sorry, looks like for your model it is in the software.
Says in the printer setup page to reset printing system.
May be the same thing anyway.

Ok sorry to ask, but where do I access the printer setup page to reset the printer?

    Thanks

    Should be start/printers and faxes.
Right click the printer and click properties.
You can also access printing preferences there.

Well I've looked everywhere for a reset button under the printer properties screen, but all I could find was the printing preferences reset button. Any ideas?
