Hi my Epson Printer has shut down with a warning that the ink pads (NOT ink cartridges) are beyond their service life. Its a rip-off system by Epson to force you to buy a new printeras the pads are not easily replacable and the cost of having them replaced is pretty close to the cost of a new printer.
There are many websites which show you how to take your machine apart, and there is software that can reset the pages printed counter so that you can use your printer again.
I have already succeeded in opening the printer and replacing the pads, I have the software, but of course all of this help from the net is just designed to get you to pay for a key code that you need to reset the counter. The cost is about 10 - 12 dollars depending on which site you go on
My Question is, will these key codes actually work and is this a legit workaround, or is this a scam to extract money from people so pee'd off with Epson that they will take the risk just to put one over on them ?
thanks in advance and sorry if this is in the wrong place
