Epson XP-830 won't accept new ink cartridges

Have tried: re-seating, cleaning with alcohol, turning printer off and removing all cartridges then turning back on. First tried buying new cartridges,in case the other new ones were defective but same error message. Any suggestions? (None of these cartridges are refills, all new and original Epson manufacture.)

There was a firmware update for this printer released on Jun 6, 2018 (see here). I'd recommend trying the upgrade, if you haven't done so already, and then see if they're recognised properly thereafter.
