Using XP and Roxio EZ CD Creator 5. When I try to erase files on a CDRW disc I now get the message "can't erase them because they are 'read only files'. The disc is formatted using Creator 5 and has worked in the past. Help

To be technical you can’t erase individual files using EZ CD Creator. There is a companion program that usually loads with it called DirectCD which formats CDs and allows drag/paste in windows explorer.

If you formatted a RW disc the only reason for the refusal to erase the file is the read only attribute. Try right clicking on the file and select properties. Uncheck “Read only”
