I am persistently having web pages come up on screen, which have not been requested. Most are surveys, downloads. offers etc etc.

Pop ups have been turned off.

At the same time the PC is behaving erratically.

Also I appear to have lost my free AVG anti virus, and I cannot down load it again, and keep getting error messages.

    Help please

You didn't provide any information about your computer, so do the following:

    Download and save the

    TSG System Information Utility (SysInfo.exe)

After it's been downloaded and saved, double-click it to run it.

Information about your computer will appear.

Return here to your thread, then copy-and-paste the ENTIRE text here.

Why hasn't Windows XP Professional SP2 been upgraded to SP3(which was released in May 2008)?

Why is there no full-time antivirus installed and running?

What's the model name and model number of that HP/Compaq computer?

    What's the part/product number(P/N) on it?

If you had replied to the last 2 questions in post #4, we may have been able to help you further.

Good luck getting it fixed, and hopefully it won't cost you a fortune.
