    Hey Everyone.

Maybe someone could be of help. I have gone through several different forums and have attempted several ways to try to fix this but have had no luck.

I have tried the netsch winsock reset
I have tried the ipconfig /renew
My DNS service starts but my dchp client doesnt want to and gives me the error 1075.
I have removed NAV still nothing.

I have also tried many other alternatives but im just not remembering at the moment and I am just stumped.

Internet works on my other two computers, but my laptop is what seems to not want to connect wirelessly or routed. Something seems to be blocked or missing.

If anyone can please help me in any way possible it would greatly be appreciated. If you need me to provide some more details please let me know.

    Thanks
    Lewis B.

I had removed Norton already. But I tried the link you gave me right now to give it a shot. But still nothing.

Idk if this helps. When I try to do ipconfig /renew it says rpc server unavailable.

    IP routing enabled NO
    Wins Proxy Enabled NO

    IP Address 0.0.0.0
    Subnet mask 0.0.0.0

Net Bios over Tcpip disabled (It was on default i switched to enabled still gettin disabled)

DNS & DCHP 192.168.0.1 (I believe it should be 192.168.1.1 if im correct?)

Uninstalling Norton without that tool is never quite enough. Norton is notorious for Internet connection problems when not properly uninstalled.

I've requested that your thread be moved to the Networking forum.

run the removal tool twice and reboot inbetween
check the dependencies - see below

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
    From a Johnwill post

IP addresses of all zeros are normally caused by one of the following.

    Diagnosis:

    1. DHCP Service not running.
    2. Duplicate IP address on the network.
    3. Bad NIC card drivers.
    4. Defective NIC hardware.

    Resolution:

    1. Check Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services. The DHCP Client service should be Started and its Startup Type should be Automatic.
    2. Turn off ALL of the computers and other network connected devices, restart (power cycle) the router, then restart all the computers and other network devices.
    3. Check for upgraded drivers and/or reload the Network drivers.
    4. Replace the Network Interface Card.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Services Dependencies

If a service is not running,
    right click on the service
then click on properties and now check the dependencies.

Check each of the dependencies and see which one is preventing the service from running.

To verify that the dependency components are running. Follow the steps below:
    • Click Start, Run and type DEVMGMT.MSC
    • In the View menu, click Show hidden devices
    • Double-click Non-Plug and Play drivers section
    • Double-click the entry AFD, "Ancillary Function Driver for winsock" and click the Driver tab
Whats the startup type set to ?
    • Start the service. Note down the error message if any.

Similarly start the other drivers namely:
    NetIO legacy TDI support driver
    TCP/IP Protocol Driver
    Network store interface service
    NSI proxy service

Post back if all are started and any error messages

    Thanks Phantom.

    Etaf,
DCHP does not start and only gives me the error 1075. It is already on automatic.

-AFD startup is set to system. No errors and its already started.
    -Same for TCP/IP Protocol Driver

Now NetIo legacy TDI support driver, Network store interface service, NSI proxy service i dont seem to have.

-I have NDProxy it is set to Demand.

No error messages but i dont happen to have those three other drivers

Have you been hit by malware prior to this connection problem?

Im assuming it was malware. Not 100% sure but im sure it was some type of virus, because it was the only reason I activated my free 60day trial of Norton. After it removed the virus. Everything was working fine then 1 day later my internet did not want to work.

1- Please click HERE to download HijackThis.
    2- Run the program.
3- Click on the Main Menu button if not already there.
4- Select Do a system scan and save a logfile.
5- Copy and paste the scan log from Notepad into your next reply.
6- Do not "Fix" anything unless advised to do so.

Use your working computer to download the program. Save it to a USB flash drive or other removable media. Plug it into the faulty computer and save the program to your hard drive before running it.

Unfortunatly, or fortunately, depending on how you see it, there's no malware showing in your log. However, HijackThis doesn't show everything.

I would click on Report and kindly ask to be moved to the Virus & Other Malware Removal forum. Be sure to provide the appropriate reports in that forum after reading THIS. From there, be patient. The malware removal experts are very busy! You should get an answer within the next 48 hours.
