Hello everyone, here is my problem:
I barely use the DVD or CD player and a long time ago my husband wanted to watch a DVD and the DVD drive did not recognize any DVD in it. I didn't pay attention. I can play and write CDs in my CD drive, but that's all. A few days ago I was installing a program in my PC, at that time my PC started to give me an "updating Adobe Reader's" message. I tried to allow the update but it was not successful and at the time I ignored these issues because I was not in dire need to use the drive. now I think a made a mistake by not fixing it at the time. Now that I need to use the DVD player to install a program, my PC does not recognize the DVD or CD in the DVD drive.
First it gave me this message "Error 1327.Invalid Drive: [drive letter] while installing or updating Adobe CS4, Acrobat or Adobe ReaderProducts affected"; so I tried to fix it by myself and found a program online that said they would fix this problem. PerfectOptmizer, but this program just scanned for free showing me how to fix, but to fix the problem I had to buy their program, which I did, but it did NOT solve the issue, I still could not run any CD or DVD in my DVD drive, then I read the troubleshooting at my HP PC HELP & SUPPORT and it gave me this situation px.dll not found.
My PC Info is below in case it helps to solve my problem.
Also I want to let you know that I am not sure I have the CD recover disc for this XP Home version, I think when I bought this PC it was already installed. I have an HP Lap Top with an earlier version, XP Professional and I think I have the CD recover disc so if I cannot fix my issue mentioned above and if it is possible to install my laptop's XP Pro disc on this PC DeskTop would this be OK ? .
So here I am to get some help from you guys.
Please Help me anyone.
