Am trying to install Cannon ImageClass MF4150. All goes well with the installation disc until I get to one of the programs on the disc " MF Tool box" Installation starts and goes to end THEN I GET THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE:

"ERROR 177 There is a problem with this Windows installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."

Contacted Canon - they do not have a clue.

Have deleted, erased, and retried several times. The message is a pain. If I go to a different computer (My daughters') NO PROBLEM!! There is nothing wrong with the installation disc!!
There must be some way to get around this stubborn computer, or force the installation.
I do not know what to do. Each time I try to install again that particular program is "rolled back"

Is there any way to install? NEED HELP!!

Try copying the CD to a folder on your desktop and installing from there.

Also try shutting down as many other programs as you possibly can before starting the installation.

Tried it. No luck. Get same message. Does anyone know exactly what Error 177 means? Is there a way to get arround it? Some way to force an installation?
