ERROR: 404 in Windows Live Mail

    I open my Windows Live Mail and when I click on any email link to a video or photo it won't open the link but instead opens of Microsoft Word with this written:

    "ERROR: 404 - The page you requested is not available"

    This just started. can someone please help me. Many thank & God bless.


    PS - I run Windows 7

    Good job of providing the error message.

    When did you download Windows Live Mail?

    Which version of WLM are you using?

    When did WLM last work correctly.

    The problem may be with W L M.
    Please see the screen shot I have attached.

    Try to be patient and wait a couple of hours. The W L M server may be overloaded with requests, or the server may be on a break, for maintenance.

    I am NOT suggesting that you shouldn't be concerned. I am only suggesting patience of 2 to 4 hours.

    that is due to an error in default file type associations on your computer with http: protocols
    fix it as shown here

    It is guaranteed not to to be a WLM fault. The searches you show in your screen shot are the only 2 results of this occurrence and because the wording is exactly the same as posted here, the conclusion is that the same poster has posted all 3 posts on different forums, seeking help. That might be unwise of him/her as that behaviour can cause confusion & make it slower to track down the problem.
