When my wifes computer boots up she gets a message as follows

Error loading C/Windows/System32/atgban.dll box that must be clicked off before we can continue.

I ran her Avast antivirus program and took out a problems ,then ran spybot and removed a few more but on reboot we still get the message. It does not seem to hurt anything but is a neusience everytime we start her computer up.

    regards

    Your wifes computer is infected....

To download HJTsetup.exe from TrendSecure To Download HijackThis go to the following at the File Repository
Click on the link below to Download HijackThis Self Installer:

    http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/threat_analytics/HJTInstall.exe

Save the file to your desktop.
Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\HijackThis.
Continue to click Next in the setup dialog boxes until you get to the Select Additional Tasks dialog.
Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
At the final dialog box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
Click Save to save the log file and then the log will open in notepad.
At the top of the Notepad HJT log screen, hit Edit then Select All then click Edit and then click Copy doing that copies the text to the clipboard, you won't see it yet....
Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
A security expert with a gold shield to the right of their name should take a look at your log - please be patient.

It seems when my spybot deleted this dll my start up program was still looking for it. Went to MSconfig , start up and unchecked atgban and now seems to be ok.

Disabling in MSCONFIG is not sufficient. And I do not think Spybot got all of this infection. This particular one requires a specialized removal tool to find and remove additional components which do not show up .
You should post in the Malware board with a title suspected vundo infection
It is not the one you found.
That one is Win32.TrafficSol.f which requires use of the sdfix tool under supervision to properly and completely remove.
So you have two infections you need an expert to help repair the damage.

Thanks but I gues i really don't understand. I have deleted the .dll and disabled it at start up and everything is working fine. What is going on that I should be worried about?. My wifes computer is running fine now with no slow downs or unneccessary files. We run window washer reguarly and clean the registry with pc on point. I feal like I should leave well enough alone.
