I got back from class today and my computer was frozen. I forced a reboot. When it tries to load windows XP, I get an error message that says: Operating System Not Found !!!!!!!! Can/Should I load with the boot disks? I CAN NOT loose the info on my hard drive. What should I do?

Do you have a friends PC that you can use ...if so then take out your Hard drive and put it on your friends as Slave and see if you can retrieve the Data.

Does your Hrad drive show up in Bios?

Try using the restore disks to do a "recovery"

u should not lose any data then.

Make sure it is the Full Operating CD and not the Restore disk as that will wipe everything from your Hard drive before it puts the O/S back on.

You can get a 2.5 to 3.5 IDE adapter for putting it on a desktop.
