error message doing installing codec pack

    Can someone help...Doing istallation I receved a message -An error occured trying to copy a file..C:/windows/system32/3ivx.dell .Can someone tell me why I can't install the codec Kcodec204F full .

    If you are indeed trying to copy the file "3ivx.dell", can you check the file name?

    For a codec it could be 3ivx.dll (not .dell)

    Most Windows system files are protected, as they are "in use"

    Start Windows in Safe Mode, and try the operation there.

    To start in Safe Mode, tap F8 continuously as the PC is booting. Select from the menu you should see appear.

    Hi Sue :)

    you can just install the Divx codec, seeing how the 3ivx and Divx codecs are simmiliar.. you can get the most recent Divx codec here..
