i just purchased a mfc printer brother j410w. whe i try to install the software it gives me an error message iso52-install network driver-1. then tells me to reinstall it. then it pops up - you do not have permission to modify the settings for this printer, if you need to change the settings, contact your system administrator. i ws installing the program under administrator. i also initially tried under the regular one. my mom installed the software no problem on her computer. she has a compaq. my computer is only 3 years old. it is a toshiba satellite l305d s5900. it is operating on vista. i contacted brother who says it isnt anything to do with them, and i contacted toshiba who says it isnt their problem either. can anyone tell me what to do>? please and thank you

right click on the installer program and choose 'run as administrator'. See if that works.
