That means that you are running some old program that needs DOS. Try to find out what program it is and replace it with something from the 21st century.

When are you getting that error message? At Startup? When trying to run a program? When opening a folder?

There has to be something preceding the error, like a file and location...

1- Please click HERE to download HijackThis.
2- Run the program.
3- Click on the Main Menu button if not already there.
4- Select Do a system scan and save a logfile.
5- Copy and paste the scan log from Notepad into your next reply.
6- Do not "Fix" anything unless advised to do so.

For Windows 7 and Vista:

If Windows is denying access to the Hosts file, disable the UAC and run HijackThis again.

1- Run HijackThis again.
2- Click on Open The Misc Tools section from the Main Menu.
3- Click on Open Uninstall Manager.
4- Click on Save list...
5- Save the text file to the desktop.
6- Copy and paste the log from Notepad into your next reply.
