RPC stands for Remote Procedure Call

This means that a programs calls some code (a procedure) on another computer (the remote).

Maybe this has something to do with a drive you mapped, a printer you shared or something similar ???

If you enter "Win95 RPC wmsg" in TSG's search page you will find a number of threads addressing it, of which this is one....

About half the time I've seen this problem it is resolved by installing the DCOM 1.3 files. In other cases it was necessary to reduce the number of of programs loading and running in the background.

If that is necessary and you need help doing it, run msinfo32 and click on "software environment" and "startup programs". Then click edit>select all>edit>copy and paste the copied text in a reply.
