    Im running wp pro and im getting a message C:\ windows\system32\kernel64.exe cannot be found.............can anyone shed any light on this..............any help greatly appreciated

    Hi..if you can run a Hijack this log..log expert will take a look..link below..
    D/load install in C:\ program file..click scan and save logfile..it will open in notepad..
    Click edit>select all>edit>copy>back to your thread>paste on your thread..

    Hi..log expert needs to check your log...
    Running Kaspersky And Avg Anti virus programs..will cause conflict between the two and effect system performance..

    I disabled AVG from start up menu and re booted and ran a new log
    I have also been informed by another poster that my problem is caused by a tojan--downloaderwin32.tibs.aw

    It would appear that you AV has detected and quarantined the file, but did not fix the registry/ini files.

    Run HJT again, and delete
    F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\kernels64.exe


    Then, reboot and run this online AV as a secondary check.

    Excellent!

    Now, did you run the online check?

    And, you have two AVs active. AVG and Kaspersky. This is not a good idea and is of little benefit.
    Choose one and uninstall the other.

    And, in whichever you keep, if there is an option (when it detects a virus) that is set to "Automatic" and could be set to "Let Me Choose", select the latter.

    Then, when and if you ever get infected again, you will be aware that it has happened.

    Did you remove one of the antivirus programs?
