    Links contains illegal long file name entries on drive c.
    How do I fix it, scan disk and defrag won't complete

    Welcome to TSG mjrasw.

    Usually the files are ones in the Favorites folder, and can easily be deleted or renamed if you know which ones. Do you?

    Another thing to do so that scandisk doesn't ruin your Favorites, and it can do that, is this. If you have another partition, move favorites there. All you need is to drag and drop the favorites folder to another location. Windows finds it. The registry will update itself. Favorites will work as always. You can choose to leave it in place there or move it back after the scandisk is finished.

    EDIT: You will be moving Favorites to another Partition. Hold the right Mouse Button down while you drag and drop the favorites folder. Release the mouse button. A menu will appear. Choose Move.
