I have 3 USB devices. Each time I try to download a document to them I have window that pops up saying " Device is write protected. Use another device or disable the write protection." I've never had this to happen before. How do I go about disabling the write protection on my USB devices?

I am a grandmother so any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Deann

Just try downloading the files to desktop and then copy them to the USB disks, if the write error pops up again, disable the USB device, plug it out and then plug it back in, try the same procedure again.

I tried the advice posted but the message repeatedly pops up and I can't use the USB due to the write protection.

Plug the device in.

Go into "My Computer."

Right click the device where it shows up in removable media.

Click Properties.

Look for permissions
.
