Hi cybret,
An XMS error usually points to a bad stick of ram.
Try reseating your existing ram, or if you have more than one stick of ram, take 1 out and reboot to see if the message still appears, then try the other stick.

hi, i checked out the two memory sticks one at a time and still got the message, this time the messsage says "an extended memory manager is already installed"..."no xms driver" I also took everything out of the start-up except systray and exployer. he has a program in the computer called dap, it has something to do with accelleration? would this have any thing to do with it?.
