When I try to update W-XP, I get Error number: 0x8007000B. Also, I cannot activate my new AV Trend Micro and I am not able to update iTunes. All email and WE applications work fine. I have restored to a date at least a month earlier; cheked http 1.1 and thru proxy; purchased and ren RegCure; activated all start-up and services in MSCONFIG. Nothing works, please provide some assitance. Thank you-this is a great service that I have used befoe and donaed to.

    Did you check this way?

The error 0x800B0003 occurs in your Windows Update.log due to mismatch in digital signature. This
issue can be fixed by enabling "use http 1.1 through proxy connections" in Internet Options.

To enable "use http 1.1 through proxy connections"

    1. After Opening Internet Explorer click Tools / Internet Options.
    2. Click the Advanced Tab.
    3. Remove the check from use HTTP 1.1
    4. Place a check in Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections.
    5. Attempt to access the Windows Update site again.
    6. If you are still experiencing difficulties with the update site, try
having both HTTP 1.1 and HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections checked.”

I had the exact same problem. Tell me, when you try to download anything from microsoft.com, do you get a page saying: "Page not Found" or "Page not Available" or "Page is invalid"? If so, you most likely have a Browser Hijacker. They can be quite annoying; they redirect your browser all over the place and block any downloads that could remove it.
Please post a Hijack This log in the Malware Removal forum along with a description of the Windows Update error and the redirecting upon attempt to download from microsoft. It worked for me, it may work for you too! Good Luck! :)

Why not try to update outside the proxy to see if its the problem?
