error on startup

    when starting my pc i get a blue screen with the following message an error occurred at oe:0187:bff7b018 just before the background screen would appear pressing ctrl/alt/del has no effect and pc has to be turned off.on next start pc message says windows did not finish loading use safe mode .i do this then try and start again sometimes pc starts ok others blue screen with same message tried using step by step method all appears to be well then blue screen again.other nos that have appeared are 0187:bff775b4 also 0187bff77328 and 0182:bffb018 but the first error no is usually the most common .system details,win me
    700celeron processer.192mb ram 20gbhard drive.any help would be most appreciated.

    Fixing problems like that involves a process of elimination in determining what is causing it.
