I get this error when I try to send an email using outlook:

    No, Server Error:
    Code:
    505, Error Number: 0x800CCC87
I have searched on google to see about a remedy. No luck.

Anyone ever heard of this or have any suggestion.

I use Windows XP and Office 2000 professional.

    Thank You,
    Michael

505 generally is relay access denied. You may need to call you provider and find out if your on any sort of black list. Also, do you happen to be on aol's network when attempting to send out bound email? Just about every company I've known, including the one I work for refuses to let SMTP traffic over their servers unless you are on the network or authenticate on out bound email. *The company I work for. To authenticate, all you need to do is enter your normal UN and PW under the "My Outbound server requires Authentication"
