in reg. mechanic ...options...check the box for create a system restore point...save.
now do another scan and click "repair" when done....it will create a restore point before it removes anything.
this is a good prog. think about buying. i've had it for about a year and never have had any problems with it removing anything it shouldn't have(y)

Ok did that but there are still 500 problems left. What are some good reg fixing programs out there?

if you mean free...the one in easy cleaner is ok.
don't mess with the duplicate files section and always back up your reg. before cleaning

ToniArts EasyCleaner 2.0.6.380 is pretty good for getting rid of junk files and invalid registry entries. Make use of the "Unnecessary" and "Registry" buttons only, and leave the rest of them alone.

PC Tools Registry Mechanic 5.1.0.224 is also a good one for getting rid of invalid registry entries, but it's not free and will cost you $30.00 to get the fully-functional version.

I use them both.
