That is an error from Microsoft office trying to update as soon as the computer is turned on
I assume you have the click to run version of office 2010 installed
open any office program ( word for example) select file /account /office updates and on the update button, select update now
that should do an update of the CTR version of office that you have installed and sort out the error
if it doesn't then we need to look at other causes for the problem of office update being blocked

Thank you for your reply. You're correct in your evaluation of the issue. I have attempted a repair of the click-to- run program, the change window opens, I attempt to follow your instructions, and the program is uninstalled.

I did a system restore to get the program back. It won't open. The error message says the program needs to be repaired. I try it again with the same result.

What now? Can I uninstall and reinstall the program?

if you have an installer then it can be uninstalled & reinstalled,
    a repair shouldn't uninstall it

I reached the same conclusion. Unfortunately, I have not found a trustworthy download site for word 2010 click to run. can you send me a link? Thanks.
