In my office upstairs I have my broad band modem and two PC's and two printers. I would prefer to have these hard wired (ethernet) connected.

Down stairs I want to set up a PC for my wife via a wireless connection and I would also like to be able to use a lap to from the basement from time to time.

Can any one suggest a suitable configuration.

I have a friend with a similar set up who uses Net Gear DG632 and Net Gear WPN 824, but don't know if this is the best option.

    Any help would be appreciated.

There's nothing wrong with your friend's configuration. One thing that I'd be thinking about, is the fast that you're going down two floors with the wireless signal. You might want to orient the antennas in a horizontal attitude to get more signal up and down, since the normal radiated pattern is like a bow-tie out the sides of a vertical antenna.
