I have an some IP cameras connected to a router via RJ45 Ethernet cable. The router is NOT connected to the internet.

The Ethernet connection works perfectly on my windows 7 system, but is not recognized on the windows 8.1 system.
Any idea on why this happens on Windows 8.1 and how to correct it?

What is listed in Device Manager under Network Adapters?

What, if any, warnings or errors are in Device Manager?

Showing two ethernet adapters and one wireless. Which ethernet are you trying to use?

Do any of those show as connected in Network Connections? If so, try disabling all but the one you are trying to use (and then Restart the system).

Trying to us the realtek the other adapter belongs to a docking station.

None of the connections show an active connection when plugged in and I have disabled and restarted.

I've also rolled back the driver looked for new and updated drivers and deleted the connection completely.

Everything is in its original state again.

I wonder if having the laptop docked causes the integrated ethernet to be ignored?
