Hello Jaydog45,

Since you installed a fresh copy of Windows XP, you are going to need to reinstall a lot of drivers.

What is the make and model of the problem computer?

Jaydog45:

You should never do a fresh install of Windows in a computer without first identifying its devices and obtaining drivers for those devices.

Does that fresh copy of Windows XP Professional include the Service Pack 3 upgrade?

-----------------------------------------------------------

Right-click My Computer, then click Properties - Hardware - Device Manager.

I'm guessing there are one or more entries with a yellow ? next to them.

Double-click each of those entries to open their properties window, then click the Details tab, then select Hardware Ids

There will be one or more strings that has VEN_####&DEV_#### as part of it.

Advise what the 4 numbers and letters are that follow VEN_ and DEV_

Be careful not to make any typos because those vendor and device codes are what identify those devices.

There should be a number written on the motherboard. Open up the case and take a look. That should be the model number. Just write all of the numbers you can find on it :)

I need you to submit those 4-character vendor codes and device codes here so we can identify those devices and then locate drivers for them.

Without the drivers installed, those devices won't work.
