I was on my PC for a good while, and accidentally unplugged the surge protector. When I plugged it back in and booted my PC up, the Ethernet refused to connect. I unplugged the router and the cables themselves, still no connection. I have a wireless wifi adapter that allows me to use the internet that way, but the Ethernet should be taking over it. I don't know why this happened, I was just using the Ethernet, any ideas? Help please.

Let the power off the router for at least a minute so it can repopulate the IPs.

Does your computer still recognize the adapter, and gets at least a 169.254.x.y IP?
