    Hello

I have just got a phone plug in my room so I do not have to use my USB adaptor for my wireless broadband as it keeps losing the signal. I now have the router in my room using the Ethernet hole on my new MSI K8T Neo2-F V2.0 Motherboard, but every time I try and download a file it is corrupted. I have tried many different file just in case it was that. This did not work so I tried using my USB adopter and every thing downloads fine again. The driver for it is Realtek rtl8169/8110 family GIGABIT ETHERNET NIC and this is the web site for the motherboard nhttp://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3318077&CatId=15

Hope some one can help me with this.

Did you try removing the network card from Control Panel | System | Hardware | Device Manager and reboot. Then reinstall it on reboot. Get the latest drivers from Realtek's site if you can.

Consider a possible cable problem or LAN port on the router.

I would be thinking along the lines of something wrong with the TCP/IP files.
oh btw, you say you have troubledownloading files. Can you view web pages? And what is the exact error that you get when the file fails to download.

In your first post you said, "just got a phone plug in my room." Please explain that. Do you mean you replaced the phone jack? New do-it-yourself wiring? New professionally installed wiring?

What is the brand and model of the modem that you are using? Do you get the same problem connecting the computer directly to the modem?

Seems like you've narrowed the possibilities to the cable or the NIC.

NIC = Network Interface Card. Your ethernet adapter.

A known good cable is one that is working fine. A brand new cable is one that we expect to work, and that is probably fine, but still one that may be dead or injured on arrival.

Results of an ipconfig /all (previosuly requested)

    Start>Run type cmd hit enter

    ipconfig /all >> C:\ipconfig.txt

Go to your C Drive and copy the results of that file here.
