Everything is slowing down. Just gets slower every day. Ran dskchk,defrag,ad-aware,spybot,cwshredder,ccleaner,deleted unused programs, ran registry mechanic. Nothing much improved.
    Help, please?

    Hi and welcome :)

The Hijack This log is impossible to read.
    Please rescan with Hijack This.
When the log opens in Notepad, go to Format and select Wordwrap.
Then copy and paste the log here.

No problem :) How much RAM does the system have?

Uninstall Logitech Desktop Messenger from Add/Remove Programs.
Then reboot and post a new log.

Do you ever turn your compuer off? If you leave it on 24/7 as I recall some things can accumulate in the ram which gets flushed when you reboot??

You do have a lot of processes running also and that might be part of the problem if you are shy on ram

No signs of infection but as wacorsaut mentioned, you have a ton of things running.
Do you do routine maintenance on the system? Such as Disk Cleanup and Defrag?
Regularly empty out the cookies and temporary internet files?

yes, do those things often. I don't need to have everything running all the time. What/how can I eliminate those and still be able to pull them up when needed. Really haven't added anything new in ages. Just windows updates, and other updates.

you can have a lot of stuff and still work ok. It is just you dont need or want the to start up all those when you boot up

you could take note of what is in msconfig and remove all but the av and firewall from start up and see how it works out. you can always go back and recheck anything which did not work or caused a problem

one thing you could consider when norton expires is to go with a different av

norton is a resource hog in many folks opinion

Thanks. Long list! I ran a StartupList 2.01 earlier (from HiJackThis site) and will cross-refernce with this CastleCops site. Be back if this doesn't help. Thanks so much!

yeah, i was gonna say aside from the number of processes running, get a different Anti Virus.

I luv my NOD32 AV from eset, killer detection rating, quick, and extremely light on the system....oh, and it dont ask you stupid irrelivant questions that most ppl dont know and simply shouldnt be asked (y)
