Well, it looks like you may have a virus. However, try this first...

Let HJT fix the following items...

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = file://C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\sp.html
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = file://C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\sp.html
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = file://C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\sp.html
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = file://C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\sp.html
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = file://C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\sp.html
    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = file://C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\sp.html
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,HomeOldSP = about:blank
    R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497}_ - (no file)

If I were you, I would get a copy of TrendMicro's SYSCLEAN and updated pattern files. Scan your system with it.

    You can get them here....

    SYSCLEAN PACKAGE:
    http://www.trendmicro.com/download/dcs.asp

    PATTERN FILES:
    http://www.trendmicro.com/download/pattern.asp

Put SYSCLEAN in a folder, extract the pattern files to that same folder. Reboot into safe mode and double click SYSCLEAN.

The file that catches my attention is....

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [zjsib] C:\WINDOWS\kqbfnlmxx.exe

I don't know what it is, but it looks pretty strange to me.

    Hope this helps a little....

    Shane

    I too am very suspicious of O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [zjsib] C:\WINDOWS\kqbfnlmxx.exe
all I can find out about it is that it is of Czech origin,it could well be a problem of some kind,if it were me I would have hijack fix this, you can always put it back if required .....

    Fix these below

    R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497}_ - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {D848A3CA-0BFB-4DE0-BA9E-A57F0CCA1C13} - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {1A2FB181-0694-11D9-828B-4445A717EB6C} - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MSDOH.DLL (file missing)

As far as Im concerned your log is now clean, are you still having the problems?

yes, I'm still encountering the same problems.

For the most part, I can use my laptop. It's just that everytime I try to open up something I get "this program has performed an illegal operation....." After closing that a couple of times whatever I open will stay open.

It's just a nuisance right now.

I appreciate everyone's advice thus far.

Does it mention anything else in the illegal operation message? (like for example "in module iexplorer.exe")?

or it just simply says this program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down."?

Hmm...since that last log was clean, I'm wondering now if it's video drivers related.

Does it still occur when opening Control Panel?
