Excel 07

    When clicking on an excel file it wont open i need to go to the application open the application and the selec file open and choose the file i want to open what can i do to fix the problem with out having to reinstall office

    When you say it doesn't open - does it say anything? Like no program associated?
    Have you gone to FOLDER OPTION to see if .xls is associated with EXCEL. It should be but perhaps it had a hiccup and isn't anymore.

    Is the "Ignore Other Applications" option checked in Excel? If so, uncheck it.

    TOOLS >> OPTIONS >> GENERAL TAB >> UNCHECK "IGNORE OTHER APPLICATIONS"

    Also check that the association is set up correctly as previously mentioned by CastleHeart
