excel and word issue

Hi,
I am new to HR. I have to send appraisal letters in word to all the employees and the letter has employee code,name and the salary number.So is there any option so that i could fetch the code number and name from other database or excel.So that, just by typing code of an employee,name and the salary automatically appears.

Please HELP

Yes this can easily be done. Do you already have an Excel file that contains a list of all employees along with their respective employee code, names, and salary?
