    I can code Excel pretty well. Post what need in a little more detail and I'll try to help if I can. Here is the basic code

    Code:
    Public Sub ConvertToOct()

    vNumber = 10

    vOct = Oct$(vNumber)

    MsgBox (vOct)

    End Sub
    Rollin

    OK - bare with me cos i dont know jack about excel::

    OK - we need to take a basic 4 digit number from one column and in the next colum have this number dec2oct which i believe is =DEC2OCT(ref to cell)

    then in the next column i need for this OCTAL'd number to be reversed

    This sounds like a custom function because there is no built in function in Excel to do this. Also, what do you mean reversed? You want to convert the OCT value back to its original value?
