receiving error "unable to read file" when going into an excel document although the user is the only person with access to that file. He is opening the file in excel this is happening once a week although he goes into the file everyday to update the info. It has happened twice and seemsto corrupt wednesday evening because on a thursday when he goes into the file it shows the above error"
check the "scheduled tasks" in your "system tools" and if that's turning on every wednesday night, turn it off. you may also want to get a hold of Norton System Works, and perform a Window's Scan to find out what's happening and fix it. something like this was happening to a friend of mine and i had to completely format his hard drive and reinstall everything to fix it.
Doing software support, I generally find this is a problem with the network refresh. Something is either not releasing the file when it is complete, or the network is not being refreshed often enough.
