I would like to know how to format a cell to change a number to the written out format. (i.e. 5,000 to Five-Thousand). Any ideas?

I thought the "Text" function might work but I couldn't figure it out for this type of format.

Follow these instructions found in the "Microsoft KNowledge base" . Copy/paste (not type) the code into a new Module, as instructed. This will make the function available to that workbook , If you put it in the Personal.xls then it will be available as a "User Defined function" (so will the one in workbook).

I tried it out and it works, you can alter the text to suite your needs.

If you need help with the code, just ask
