    Hi,

I get a popup error message when I open an Excel file. I believe it is something to do with Excel 2007. I think it gives me an error because the file extenstion is .xls and not xlsx.
    (please see attached file)

Is there away to get rid of this popup message..

    Thank you.

    Hi there,

It shouldn't be a problem opening an xls file in 2007. It will just open in compatibility mode. Can you open any xls file? If not, I would suspect your File Associations are off for xls and Excel. To look for this, go to Control Panel | Folder Options | File Types (tab), scroll down to XLS and ensure that it is on Microsoft Excel. If it is not a file association error, try opening the file on another computer. It may be corrupted.

    Hi,

I can open either xls or xlsx files in Excel 2007, its just I get that error popup message. and I have to click yes for the excel to open, wanted to know if it is possible to not show that message..

both of the extenstions "xls and xlsx" are in the File Type.
    Thanks,

Is it just this file, or all files? Can you open these files on other computers w/o this error?

All files.. and the error is still there when I try opening the files on other computers.
I just though maybe there is a flag I can turn off, to not recieve popup messages.
