In Excel, how can you set it up so if you put the number 1 in the first cell and then hit enter, the number 2 will go in the next cell, etc. etc. ?

Type in cell a1 the number 1, in cell a2(or b1) type in 2. Highlight both cells, click on the fill handle, the little detached piece in the right bottom corner of the cell when you click on the cell, and drag it as far as you need.
