    and the result would be ?

    what program are you planning on using ?

    Excel ?
    what version

    if 2016 is in Cell A1
    and 1935 in cell B1
    and you want the result in cell C1
    what are you expecting to see in C1?

    are the 2016 and the 1935 entered as part of a date
    like
    12th mar 2016
    19th sep 1935
    and just want to calc the years ?

    =YEAR(A1)-YEAR(B1)
    if they are dates

    see sample

    Thank you so much

    I put >>> =today(0) in a cell Then subtracted another cell >>> used the above =year($a$1)-year(b2)
    Thanks again

    do you need the today() in a cell ?

    i'm assuming $A$1 has today()

    you could use
    =year(today())-year(b2)
